My Internet is working again. But I guess it wasn’t my internet connection. It had been worse since two months now. Some days I didn’t get a connection and on the other days it was real slow. I had known that I had a real bad connection from my provider, but last week I got a new one (earlier than I thought) and I had connection on every day, but it wasn’t much faster.
Then came yesterday when I tried to connect with the internet and it doesn’t worked. So I tried this afternoon again and it still didn’t worked. But my anti virus update had been done and when I opened my e-mail program I got new e-mails and my messenger also worked. So could not be my internet connection.
I use Firefox and never had a problem with it. So I looked at my computer if I still have a version of internet Explorer and found an old one. With that I could connect and it was real fast, like it should be with the new provider. So I downloaded a new version of Firefox, but it still don’t work. So now I have Opera (I don’t like the Internet Explorer, I have to use it at work and hate it) and it’s working real fast.
So I hope my problems with my internet connection are lying behind me.
“‘Your Man Jesus seems to me a bit of a son of a bitch when it comes to women,’ Roland said. ‘Was He ever married?’ The corners of Callahan’s mouth quirked. ‘No,’ he said, ‘but His girlfriend was a whore.’ ‘Well,’ Roland said, ‘that’s a start.’”—Stephen King. “The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla”. As if I hadn’t enough to do at work because of the closing this week, I got confusing mails today.
So one of my spanish co-workers wrote me an e-mail in Spanish. I was not able to read it. I tried to understand it with a translator, that also didn’t worked. So I asked my italien co-worker who’s in the German office, if he can translate it for me, he’s speaking spanish, but also didn’t understand what she wanted. It was something with a customer but that was all we noticed.
So I wrote her on English if she could explain it to me on English.
Her answer: Don’t worry.
Don’t worry about what????? So I wrote her again, asking what I should do with the customer.
Her answer: Nothing. Don’t worry.
So why her first e-mail?????? I wanted to knock my head against the desk.
I’m not sure if it was a good idea to hear my audio book while driving home. I’m hearing The Stand at the moment. So the worlds real empty there.
When we drove to the restaurant I had a co-worker in my car, so I had music on and there was much traffic at 5:30 pm.
But driving home alone 5 hours later, in the city was not much traffic and how farer I came (I have to drive 35 km from the city where I work to the small town where I live) I saw less cars. For the last 15 minutes or so I didn’t see one single car. And while hearing The Stand I had the intense feeling to be in that world and I’m one of the few remaining people. Very strange feeling.
Like yesterday when there was this long part about Nick who’s not able to hear and speak and I had to think the whole time how to communicate with others in that situation. I was so deep into these thoughts that i really forgot for a moment that I’m able to speak and hear.
After work the whole finance department went to a restaurant. So we sat there outside in the “beer-garden” (I’m not sure how that is called in other countries), had a nice meal and lots of fun. It’s always funny with my co-workers. And it’s always interessting because the half of our department are not Germans, so they are from very different countrys and we all doing the accounting for different countrys (I’m responsible for Portugal since 4 years and Spain since two months and not speaking both languages, or knowing just a few words so I can read emails and invoices but not talk in that languages).
And the weather was very nice, it was dry and warm (not hot), so we could sit outside till 10:30 pm, when the last five of us finally drove home. Like always we were the same five (of 20 in the department) who sat there when all other had gone home earlier. Funny thing was when 10 of us were left, some left at the same time and we were with only four persons on the table. Then 5 minutes a co-worker came back who was on the toilet and none of us remembered that he was still there.
So I had a real nice evening.
I don’t get many calls on my mobile when I’m at work. Most people send me an email on my address at work. The three guys in my office get many calls. And today all the time a mobile was ringing. And a half hour before I could go home I had a call on my mobile. I was confused. But also the guys. One of them asked surprised if I own a mobile. And was asking for the sound, because he didn’t know it. It’s the Doctor Who theme.
So when I answered the call I had to laugh, because what I was told was: Here is your mother.
My mom said it in a strange voice (normally she says here’s mom) and I had to think of I’m your father Luke.
Tomorrow evening starts finally the fourth season of Fringe in German TV. They are real late this year. Season three started last year in January. But they air tomorrow 3 episodes and beginning from the next week always 2 episodes. Strange is that they air it in the summer break. Usually no new episodes are aired during the summer break.
The world is definitely created for right handers!! It gets annoying. I’m the only left handed person in my family.
I’m also the only one. So it’s getting always to the same discussions, like why I can’t cut anything with scissors or a knife straight. They can’t understand that I can’t cut with them with my left hand because they are my for righthanded people. So I have to cut with my right hand, and that work not in the best way. And many more things like that. And all the things no one can show me with the left hand, like closing shoes or knitting. Most right handed people also don’t realize that the mouse on the computer is perfect for them but not easy to handle for lefthanded people. It took me years to find a mouse that is also perfect for lefthanded people.
People also think it’s funny how I write, not because I write with my left hand, it’s the way the sheet of paper is lying infront of me, I don’t write from left to right, I write from above to below. If the paper is later in it’s normal direction the things I wrote looks normal.
Because I had so much messages from Facebook and WKW (it’s a German kind of Facebook) with new request, I logged on both sides. I rarely do anything else there than approve request and answer messages.
On Facebook I just approved the request and logged off. On WKW I had a bit more messages, so I was there for a while and got a message from someone I don’t know. I looked at his profile and saw that he’s member of like 100 groups, with like only 5 topics, most were single groups, followed by older man with young woman groups, woman need curves groups, red hair and blue eyes are sexy groups and karneval groups.
So it’s definitely clear why he has wrote to me. There’s not much information in my profile, but a real picture (the same on facebook, I can’t see the need to share my address or phone number with the whole world). So it’s visible in my profile that I have blue eyes, red hair and curves. There’s also my age on the page. And I’m 15 years younger.
I guess if there’s a hint of my weirdness, or that my arms are full of tattoos, or that I hate karneval he wouldn’t have send me a message. It’s also unusual for that site to get messages from strangers.
So today I got my new tattoo. The Unfound symbols from the Dark Tower. The woman who made me last year the KA tattoo also did it today. Last year we spoke about our jobs because she was fascinated that I’m an accountant but have visible tattoos on my arms. But hey they hired me when I had already two on my arms so now they have to live with that.
Today she asked for the meaning of the symbols. So I explained her that it’s from my favorite book. She wanted to know which book and who’s the author. When I told her that it’s Stephen King she was surprised. We found out that she loves his books, but never heard of the Dark Tower. When I told her a bit of the story, she was very interested and now she want’s to read the books. And then we talked about other books we both like, like the Hunger Games and Inkheart. Then talked about how we like movies after books.
Yay. That’s real rare here in Germany. Because in the past people who were lefthanded hat to change to be righthanded. That stopped just a few years before I went to school. My mom was lefthanded and had to change. So I’m the only one in my family and just know few people who are lefthanded and still are.
And righthanded people don’t see it, but the world is created for righthanded people.
