Oh ok, thanks! In France they do the same too, they often replace an english word with a complete different english word. They must smoke some stuff they shouldn’t x)
I guess the German and French translators have some smoking partys together on which they think about the stupid titles they choose.
In Germany they most time pick a single German word, that maybe has nothing to do with the original title. Bag of Bones is calles Sara, Misery is calles Sie (she) and they made it for the Dark Tower series. The books are called Schwarz (black), Drei (three), tot. (dead), Glas (glass), Wolfsmond (wolves moon), Susannah and Der Turm (the tower).
Pulse and Love? Whay are those? :o
Puls is Cell and Love is Lisey’s Story. The title Puls is ok, it means signal, like the one in the story. But why the other book is called Love I can’t understand. Because Love isn’t a German word and the English title is different. I also can’t understand why they translate the most titles with just one word.
Because I’m excited about the new Dark Tower book I made a pics of my Stephen King books. I need nearly 4 rows in my bookshelves. Most of them are the German translations, but some I also own in the English version.
Stephen King books I have:
The Dark Tower (German and English), On Writing, Night Shift, Skeleton Crew (in Germany released in three different books), Nightmares and Dreamscapes (in Germany released in two different books), Everything’s Eventual, Just after Sunset, Carrie, Salem’s Lot, The Shining, The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Cujo, Different Seasons, Christine, Pet Sematary, It, The Eyes of the Dragon, Misery, The Tommyknockers, The Dark Half, The Stand (German and English), Four Past Mignight (in Germany released in two different books), Needful things, Dolores Claiborne, Gerald’s Game, Insomnia, Rose Madder, The Green Mile, Desperation, Bag of Bones (German and English), Hearts in Atlantis, The Girl who loved Tom Gordon, Dreamcatcher, From a Buick 8, The Colorado Kid, Cell, Lisey’s Story (German and English), Duma Key, Under the dome, Full dark no stars (German and English), 11/22/63, Rage, The Long Walk, The Running Man, Roadwork, Thinner, The Regulators, Blaze, The Talisman (German and English) and Black House (German and English).

Comission: Stephen King escaping from prison on the back of a giant spider.
Yes, I know there’s no prison at all… but hey! There’s a desert…
